G.iirl @ The Brink
August 26 @ 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm£6
South East London’s Fleur Bruneau, better known as g.iirl, is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter who combines layers of harmonies and insightful lyrics to create music that moves and reassures. She began writing songs at the age of 14 with her first ukulele, dubbed Bobby, as a form of emotional release and comfort which, to this day, she hopes is still felt in her songs. With her goal of producing music that is somewhat sad yet hopeful, her debut EP inarguably fulfils these criteria by drawing on personal experience and introspection, which has translated to listeners describing it as ‘beautifully reassuring.’ In the future, Fleur hopes to write more music on human experience, love and loss with Bobby her ukulele.
